When there are economic downturns protecting your family and valuables should be priority. Investing in security burglar alarms can be expensive so it’s important to find out exactly what your needs are before you start calling any security companies.

First you want to survey your home and know how many doors and windows you want on the security system.  Next you want to know where you will put your keypad, the part of the system where you can turn on and off the components throughout the house. The control panel is the brain of the security burglar alarms. It’s what sets on the alarm when a component detects an intruder.

Also if you choose to get a wired alarm system make sure to know how far the doors and windows wires will be routed and where will they be routed through. If you go with wireless burglar alarms know how close the sensors need to be able to communicate with each other. Keep in mind that wireless alarms are much cheaper to install since they don’t require the hard labor of putting wires through weird places.

You can either have your alarm system monitored 24 hours, 7 days a week, with a central monitoring point with a monthly fee every month. There are also basic sensors that don’t require the monitoring fee.  It all depends how much you can invest into the security of your home.

Also know the lifestyle of the home. Do you have pets? If you do this may affect your choice on the type of motion sensors you might want to get. Some are pet friend, others are not. Do you get up at the middle of the night and grab snacks; this may affect how you choose to have the motion sensors installed.

In the end the benefits you’ll gain from security burglar alarms are worth it to some of us. Sure we hope that we will never have to put the system into use but in the end when it happens it’s too late. And it’s either you are prepared or you’re not.  Better to not use something I have.  Than need something I don’t have.

Wireless Burglar Alarms

Most of our homes were not wired up for a security alarm system when the house was built. For us that land in that category wireless burglar alarms are a better choice.  Not one part of the system has to be wired back to anything. Not even back to the control keypad has to be hardwired to the main control panel, the brain of the alarm system.

The main control panel should be installed somewhere that is out of the way.  A basement, closet, or a small hidden place would be an ideal place for it. All wireless burglar alarms connect to the main control panel by radio frequency waves, which is what makes it wireless. The alarm is triggered on when any of the components detect an intruder.

The keypad is what you use to change the settings, as well as activating and deactivating the system. Obviously this should be at an easy to reach place like near a door, or entrance.  This component varies in size but most of the newer wireless burglar alarms are very small and compact.

The magnetic switches are the most important part of the alarm system. These are attached to the doors and the windows.  One piece goes on the frame and the other on the door, or window. Once the door or window is opened and the alarm system is activated it will detect and intruder and set on the alarm.

Video cameras send back the feed to the monitors. These are generally used at door entrances to see who is at the door. They can be used for any other outside surveillance as well.

The motion sensors in wireless burglar alarms are great for hallways and open areas.  These can detect body heat and motion in big open areas, or even not so big areas. Some burglar alarms come with remote controls to deactivate and activate the alarm from distances. These are very handy to have when you are in a hurry to leave, or when you’re not near the keypad.

The one thing should look out that I can think of about wireless burglar alarms is that every now and then you have to change the batteries. To me that am not really a big deal since most system let you know when the batteries are low, or there are battery problems. Also the batteries usually last about 1 to 2 years so not like you got to buy some every month.

My best choice for an alarm system for either a home or a business is wireless burglar alarms. They are very convenient when in doubt of security in your home. They are impossible to deactivate from the outside, which was a problem with the older system.

I think this is an absolute must have if you are serious about finding  wireless burglar alarms that best fits your needs.
